I’ve been a Chargers Season Ticket holder since our worst season ever, 2000. When my tickets arrived in the mail this year, it was bittersweet.
I haven’t missed an opening day game at the Q in the last 10 years. That’s about to change. I relocated to the East Coast this summer to Florida and sentimentally kept my Chargers Season Tickets for one more year. My plan is to fly back for a few regular season games and sell the rest of the tickets. If I can at least break-even or find a partner, I’ll continue to keep my seats.
My hope is that I can sell my seats to Charger backers instead of random Qualcomm visitors rooting for visiting teams. My seats are located at the 35-40 yard line on the field level behind the visiting team’s bench, Section F7, Row 14, Seats 17-18 on the aisle. Chargers single game tickets go on sale Saturday @ 10am PST July 31st.
These are the games I’m unable to attend and currently available at this time:
Jaguars vs Chargers @ Qualcomm Sun 9/19 1:15 PST
Cardinals vs Chargers @ Qualcomm Sun 10/03 1:15 PST
Titans vs Chargers @ Qualcomm Sun 10/31 1:05 PST
Raiders vs Chargers @ Qualcomm Sun 12/05 1:05 PST (SOLD!)
Chiefs vs Chargers @ Qualcomm Sun 12/12 1:15 PST (SOLD!)
49′ers vs Chargers @ Qualcomm Thu 12/16 5:20 PST (SOLD!)
If you’re interested any purchasing 2 seats to any of these games at face value ($198 total), please send an email to me: smokkee@live.com
The San Diego Chargers will host FanFest at Qualcomm Stadium Saturday August 7th from 10am-1pm. Charger girls will be on hand and players will be signing autographs for fans 14 and under starting at 10:15am before practice.
Mark your calendar for Chargers FanFest, it’s FREE. Make your way down to the Q and meet your favorite San Diego Charger.
The San Diego Union Tribune reported in an interview with LT today his playing days with the Chargers are over. As reported by SDUT Tomlinson said, “I don’t believe I’ll be back in San Diego. I’ve accepted it”
In March of last year, the Chargers restructured LT’s contract and resigned him through 2011. LT’s lack of performance on the field in the 2009 season forces the Chargers and LT to come to a difficult decision. For the first time in his 9 year career with the Bolts, Tomlinson ran for less than 1000 yards. Some of the blame for that can fall on the fact he was injured in the 1st game of the ’09 regular season against the Raiders on MNF, missing games in weeks 2 and 3. The O-line was patched up. Also, the team’s offensive philosophy was driven primarily by their strength, the passing game. LT didn’t have one game where he rushed for over 100 yards this season.
But the fact remains, LT’s yards per carry in the ’09 regular season was a paltry 3.3 ypc. That’s a full yard less than his career avg of 4.3 ypc and 2 yards below his peak of 5.3 ypc in 2003.
Any genuine Chargers fan will continue to admire and respect LT for what he’s accomplished with the Bolts and for the city of San Diego. LT was the franchise’s most valuable building block recovering from a disastrous 1-15 season in 2000 making the Chargers 5-time AFC West title champions during his career in SD.
Future HOF’er Ladainian Tomlinson’s achievements over the last 9 seasons will be remembered for years to come. I”m proud to have witnessed some of his greatest moments as a season ticket holder during his run in SD. He will be sorely missed.
Sundays will not be the same at Qualcomm Stadium. Best of luck to you LT!
Maybe this is just what the Bolts need. Watch former Charger QB Drew Brees lead the Saints from the NFC South cellar (3-13 in 2005) to a SuperBowl victory in 2010.
The unthinkable just might happen. And I believe it will.
The Colts are currently 6 point favorites over the Saints. Manning is expected to lead his team to another SuperBowl win and it looks like the SuperBowl betting public believes this to be true. The line opened at the Colts -5.
IMO this game is going to be much like the Vikings / Saints NFC Championship. Both teams come in with powerful offenses. But, I think the edge goes to the Saints due to their takeaway ratio +6 in the playoffs and +11 in the regular season. The Colts are +3 in takeaways in the playoffs and +2 in the regular season. Also, the Colts have allowed Manning to be sacked 4x in two playoff games where Brees has only been sacked once.
The Saints have a respectable running game which will help them keep the ball out of Manning’s hands. But even if it is a shootout, Brees will hang tough. Brees led the league during the regular season in passer rating and completion percentage. He also threw for more TD’s and less INT’s than Peyton Manning.
The Saints +6 points is a gift. (the line has recently moved back to +5)
