Bolts own the Raiders for the 13th straight time

Some of the Charger players have never seen a loss to the Raiders.  For the 6th year in a row we sweep the season series.  Although, this one was closer than it should’ve been.  There are a lot of good things to take away from this  game but before i get into that let me just say that Raider fans are the most delusional bunch of any team.  They still come out to the Q in masses and for what?  To see their team get pounced again and again.  All their fans can say is “show us a ring”.  I say show us a win.  The Raiders are a terrible team and I don’t see them getting better for years to come.

They may lose another 13 in a row to the Chargers. There’s a real good reason why this is the only home game of the year that beer sales are shutdown at the start of the 3rd quarter and you can only purchase one beer at a time.  The Raiders and their fans blow.

The Chargers came out and made a statement to start the game with a 53 yard bomb to Malcom Floyd then a six yard TD run from LT taking a direct snap in the Wildcat offense.  Two plays and a touchdown.

CHA-CHING !

The Bolts went on to score two more TD’s in the 1st half, a catch in the end zone by a wide open Vincent Jackson and another LT touchdown run from 10 yards out.  LT only had 18 carries for 56 yards but two of those carries were HUGE.  This offense is not going to be dependent on LT as much as they have in the past.  They’re pass offense is just too strong with so many targets for Rivers to throw the ball to.

Our defense had 5 sacks including two each for Merriman and Phillips.  The LB crew did their jobs today putting enough pressure on Jamarcus forcing him to make mistakes.  Cromartie got his first INT of the season.  FINALLY!  Dude where have you been?  Welcome back Cro !

Giving Malcom Floyd the start over Chris Chambers was a great move.  Floyd had two catches for 64 yards including the bomb from Rivers on the 1st play for the Chargers.  Chambers made a HUGE 20 yard catch on 3rd and 10 in the 4th quarter to extend a drive which led to a Nate Kaeding FG putting the Chargers ahead by 8 points again.

The Raiders and Jamarcus Russell were left with a little over 4 mins to play requiring a minor miracle to tie the game.  The Bolts held strong and shut down the Raiders on their final drive.

The Bolts are now 4-3 and two games back of the AFC West leading Broncos with Denver getting their asses handed to them by the Ravens in Baltimore 30-7.

The Chargers travel to NY next Sunday to play the Giants who have lost their last three games.  There couldn’t be a better time to mix it up with the G-men.
