The Chargers crush the Broncos in Denver 32-3 for their 5th win in a row and now sit atop the AFC West with a 7-3 record and a 1 game lead over the Donkeys.
Denver started the season hot winning their first 6 games under rookie HC McD and have now dropped 4 games in a row. This team looked beat in the 1st half of this game with the Bolts in total command from the get go. Chris Simms was ineffective on Denver’s 1st three drives and a desperate McD hit the panic button turning to a hobbled Kyle Orton midway through the 2nd quarter. Orton was hurting and it showed.
In addition to holding Denver to only 3 pts, the defense caused two fumbles, got three sacks and Cro got his 3rd INT of the season.
Rivers did what Rivers does completing 17 of 22 passes for 145 yards and a TD. LT had 20 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown.
This was a HUGE win putting us in control of the AFC West title. We’re through the toughest part of our schedule and now have a bunch of cupcakes lined up to close out the season. The only game that worries me is Cincy but they lost today in Oakland so maybe I shouldn’t be too concerned about them. This team could finish out the year 12-4.
We host KC at the Q next Sunday. The Chargers Block Party in Gaslamp, Friday November 27th.
